Reflective Images is a designer jewelry company established in 1995 and has sold its jewelry in hundreds of stores and mail order catalogs. Their retail store and studio is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
We support a network within the jewelry sector committed to living wages at home and fair trade produced abroad.
Perhaps the only jewelry company manufacturing internationally with 100% recycled precious metal, in a factory that follows fair trade principals.
Publishes the web’s most important information source on fair trade jewelry issue: www.fairjewelry.org, Google’s top rated website for a “fair trade jewelry” search. The site is a public resource focusing on enquiry, education and muckraking.
Published Articles on ethical jewelry, “Making A Difference From Mine To Market” in Modern Jeweler; been featured as a green pioneer in National Jeweler; and been recognized for our vision in the jewelry sector.
Created an “open source” rating system that allows consumers to trace the origin of all components that make up their piece of jewelry. We practice transparency, even when what we reveal is not where we want to be.
Published a free, e-book, “The Ethical Jewelry Handbook,” a trade resource for others in the sector interested in exemplary practices. We also plan to publish a free consumer e-book as well this fall on purchasing ethical jewelry.
Chair an international committee, established to create fair trade principals and standards for manufacturing. This effort derives from a cross sector meeting of jewelers and NGOs at the World Bank in October, 2007.
